Today’s update comes to you from Saint-Gaudens in southwest France from Phillip Mifflin, a missions major at Pensacola Christian College.

Phillip’s Update:
We had an early start this morning, leaving the former monastery where we stayed in Mery-sur-Marne for Saint-Gaudens at 4:00 a.m. after saying goodbye to Pastor Silberstein. We spent the morning on a very pleasant ride across the beautiful French countryside. During the roughly-8-hour drive, we had plenty of time for naps, road-trip games, and singing hymns.
We arrived safely at Pastor David Price’s house in the afternoon. I spent some quality time with their dog Bella (she aggressively licked my face, but I didn’t really put up a fight!).

Afterwards, we all met together at the Eglise Biblique Baptiste du Comminges here in Saint-Gaudens. After enjoying fellowship over supper, we joined the church family for the Tuesday evening prayer service. We were able to sing the song we learned in French, “Suivez-moi”, and it went very well.

During the service, I was given a very special opportunity. Natalie Giffin and I gave our salvation testimonies through our French-speaking companions, Jonathan and Matthieu. This was my first time speaking through a translator, and it was an opportunity I will never forget. I was asked to share both the story of when I received Christ and when I first felt the Lord leading me toward missions. Dr. Adam Watt preached a message on prayer, and Pastor Price translated alongside him in French. After my experience serving in another foreign church service today, I have never felt more sure that He is calling me to the mission field.

God continues to be good to us on this trip. He has certainly blessed me personally in many great ways. We all greatly appreciate those who read these updates and pray for us as we continue to minister in France and Spain.
tomorrow:
Tomorrow, we will be working alongside the Prices and their church family to do a variety of service projects. We will be stamping copies of John and Romans that will be distributed by the church during the Tour du France; working on projects to assist church members with various home repairs, passing out Gospel tracts and literature; and other projects. Please continue to pray for our team!
