Our ministry
Church Ministries
YOM has sent three previous teams to Spain. This mission trip will work with Hebron Valley Baptist Church, which is located in
the city of Barcelona. Our team will conduct a week-long ESL program to reach out to young people in the neighborhoods around the church. This has proven an excellent method to bring unsaved
young people with a strong Catholic background to church in a country like Spain. In St. Gaudens (France), we will reach out to people visiting for the Tour of France supporting Dr. David Price’s ministry.
In addition to working with Hebron Valley Baptist Church, our team will participate in a youth rally with youth groups from 4 independent churches located in nearby cities like Tarragona,
ESL Ministry
Our team will teach English in Christian camps through immersion-style teaching with our target audience of teenagers and college-aged young people. And most importantly, we’ll present the plan of salvation in English and Spanish.
Our goal is to be a Christian testimony while displaying academic excellence. To aid this goal, we prepared material that will help Spanish speakers improve their pronunciation of English.
Team Preparation
Before the missions trip, our team members will participate in at least two training sessions in the spring. These sessions will review our academic goals and a short introduction to phonics. (To join Team Spain, you don’t need to be proficient in the Spanish language.)
